Local RHSM password disclosure via process arguments
Published Jul 14, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Information exposure in Red Hat Convert2RHEL 0.26 Vivi allows local users to read an RHSM password from process arguments. The ansible/run-convert2rhel.yml example passes the subscription-manager password on the convert2rhel command line, making it visible in the process list. Exploitation requires local access while that example playbook is running; Red Hat states that supported distributions do not ship the playbook.
