CVE-2022-1639Network attack vector

Heap corruption via ANGLE use-after-free

Published Jul 26, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024

Use-after-free in ANGLE in Google Chrome before 101.0.4951.64 allows remote attackers to corrupt heap memory through a crafted HTML page. Google identifies ANGLE as the affected component but has not disclosed which object is freed or how crafted page content causes its stale reference to be reused. Exploitation requires a user to load attacker-controlled HTML, after which successful exploitation corrupts browser-process heap memory.
