Account takeover via unverified social-login email binding
Published May 9, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Incorrect authorization in Microweber before 1.2.15 allows remote attackers to take over accounts through email-based pre-hijacking. The registration and social-login flows accept an unverified email and fail to detect an existing account before binding the identity. Exploitation requires the victim to use social login after the attacker registers the victim's email, exposing account activity and permitting data changes.
