Settings overwrite via missing CSRF check
Published Jun 13, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
CSRF in Webriti SMTP Mail 1.0 and earlier allows remote attackers to change SMTP settings through a logged-in administrator's browser. The settings handler at wp-admin/options-general.php?page=webriti_smtpmail_panels accepts posted mail and SMTP fields without a CSRF token check. Exploitation requires an administrator with an active WordPress session to load attacker-controlled content, after which email sender, relay, and credential settings can be overwritten.
