CVE-2022-1601Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Restricted-content disclosure via trusted forwarding headers

Published Aug 30, 2023 · Updated Oct 1, 2024

Authentication bypass in Alexander Schneider User Access Manager before 2.2.18 allows remote attackers to read restricted WordPress content. The visitor-IP resolver trusts client-controlled forwarding HTTP headers ahead of PHP's REMOTE_ADDR and uses the spoofed value in IP-based access decisions. Exploitation requires an IP-based restriction whose allowed address can be supplied through an accepted header; only content protected by that rule is exposed.
