Vote-limit bypass via trusted forwarding header
Published Aug 1, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
IP-based vote restriction bypass in YOP Poll before 6.4.3 allows remote attackers to cast repeat votes by spoofing a forwarding header. The visitor-IP selection logic trusts the client-controlled X-Forwarded-For value ahead of PHP's REMOTE_ADDR when enforcing per-IP limits. The affected poll must use an IP-based voting restriction; exploitation changes poll results by admitting votes that the configured limit should reject.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
