CVE-2022-1580Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Unauthenticated site access via query keyword matching

Published Sep 19, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024

Access-control bypass in Site Offline Or Coming Soon Or Maintenance Mode before 1.5.3 allows remote attackers to view an offline WordPress site. The request filter searches the entire URL for exempted keywords, so an attacker-supplied query such as ?admin is treated like an administrative path and skips the offline-page redirect. Exploitation requires only network access to a site with offline mode enabled and exposes the site content that the maintenance barrier was intended to hide.
