CVE-2022-1578Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Arbitrary SQL execution via nonce-free admin request

Published Nov 21, 2022 · Updated Apr 30, 2025

CSRF in My wpdb before 2.5 allows remote attackers to make an administrator execute arbitrary SQL through a forged request. The mywpdb_page handler accepts table, row-selection, and update fields in a POST request and performs the requested database operation without validating a WordPress nonce. Exploitation requires a logged-in administrator to open attacker-controlled content; the query then runs with that administrator's database-management capability.
