Administrator settings changes via missing CSRF check
Published Jun 27, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Cross-site request forgery in arsenmanukyan HTML2WP 1.0.0 and earlier allows remote attackers to alter settings via an administrator's browser. The html2wp-settings handler accepts a POSTed import_settings array and updates plugin settings without a CSRF token or request-origin check. An administrator must be logged in and induced to load an attacker-controlled page; successful exploitation changes import behavior and content-mapping settings.
