CVE-2022-1562Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Author-level stored XSS via unsanitized SVG uploads

Published May 30, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024

Stored XSS in Enable SVG before 1.4.0 allows remote authenticated users with Author access to execute script via uploaded SVG files. The plugin's media-upload handling permits SVG content without removing embedded script elements, and the payload runs when the file is opened directly. An Author account is required to store the file, and a victim must open its URL, allowing script execution in the site's browser origin.
