Stored XSS via unescaped plugin settings
Published May 23, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Stored XSS in Curtain 1.0.2 and earlier allows remote authenticated users with administrator access to inject script through plugin settings. Curtain stores and later renders some settings without sanitizing input or escaping output; public records do not identify the affected fields. Administrator privileges are required, and exposure remains when WordPress disallows unfiltered_html; viewing the stored content executes the script in the site origin.
