Administrator-level SQL injection via unescaped staff search
Published May 30, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
SQL injection in ERA404 StaffList before 3.1.5 allows remote authenticated users to execute injected SQL through staff search. The admin-dashboard search parameter is inserted into a database statement without adequate sanitization or escaping, so SQL syntax in the value changes the query. Administrator access to the WordPress dashboard is required, and the published proof of concept confirms query control by forcing a database delay.
