Admin-session script execution via unescaped tab parameter
Published May 23, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Reflected XSS in WPChill Check & Log Email before 1.0.6 allows remote attackers to execute script in an administrator's browser. The settings page returns the tab query parameter inside an HTML attribute without sanitizing or escaping its value. Exploitation requires an administrator to open a crafted settings URL; the script then runs in that session and can read or alter data available to the page.
