Reflected XSS via unescaped CSV thumbnail
Published Jul 11, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Reflected XSS in Visser Labs WooCommerce Product Importer 1.5.2 and earlier allows context-dependent attackers to run script via a CSV file. The import handler renders the CSV Thumbnail field in its response without sanitization or output escaping, so an HTML onerror payload executes in the browser. Exploitation requires a WordPress administrator to submit the crafted CSV and view the resulting import page; the demonstrated consequence is script execution in that administrator's session.
