Code execution via unsanitized CSV formula values
Published May 1, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
CSV formula injection in LUYA Yii Framework Helpers before 1.2.1 allows attackers to execute spreadsheet formulas through exported data. ExportHelper::generateRow quotes each value but fails to neutralize leading equals, plus, minus, at-sign, tab, or newline characters before building a CSV row. Exploitation requires a recipient to open the attacker-influenced export in spreadsheet software, enabling code execution or confidential-data exfiltration in that user's context.
