Authenticated code execution via unchecked import upload

Published Jan 16, 2024 · Updated Jun 20, 2025

Arbitrary file upload in Themely Theme Demo Import before 1.1.1 allows remote authenticated users to execute PHP through an import. The manual XML import option accepts a PHP file without validating its type, then stores it in the web-accessible uploads directory. Administrator privileges are required, and invoking the uploaded file executes code despite disabled file modification and editing controls.
