Privileged JavaScript execution via double object indexing

Prototype pollution in affected Mozilla browsers and Thunderbird allows remote attackers to execute JavaScript in the privileged parent process. A parent-process message handler uses attacker-controlled message contents for two successive JavaScript object indexes, allowing prototype properties to be overwritten. Network delivery requires user interaction, and successful exploitation crosses the content-process boundary to run attacker-controlled JavaScript with parent-process privileges.
