Script execution via unescaped settings error parameter
Published May 30, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Reflected XSS in Melapress WP 2FA before 2.2.1 allows remote attackers to execute script in an administrator's browser via a crafted URL. The settings_error query parameter is written into the wp-2fa-settings administration page without sanitization or output escaping. Exploitation requires an authenticated administrator to open the crafted link, after which the script runs with that administrator's browser privileges.
