CVE-2022-1524Network attack vector

Sensitive data exposure via missing TLS

Published Jun 24, 2022 · Updated Apr 16, 2025

Cleartext transmission in Illumina Local Run Manager 2.4 and earlier allows remote attackers to expose in-transit credentials via man-in-the-middle interception. The LRM communication path omits TLS, so intercepted traffic can reveal sensitive data and credentials and permit tampering with exchanged information. Exploitation requires network positioning between an affected instrument and its communicating peer; the record does not report service interruption.
