Unauthenticated code execution via unrestricted file upload
Published Jun 24, 2022 · Updated Apr 16, 2025
Unrestricted file upload in Illumina Local Run Manager 1.3 through 3.1 allows remote attackers to execute code through its web interface. The upload path performs no file-type restriction before accepting attacker-supplied executable content. No authentication or user interaction is required; network access to the LRM interface is sufficient for operating-system-level control.
