Stored XSS via unescaped plugin settings
Published May 16, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Stored XSS in ScrollReveal.js Effects 1.2 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to inject script through plugin settings. The plugin stores values such as Opacity without sanitizing input or escaping output, causing crafted content to become executable HTML when rendered. Administrator-level access is required, but the payload executes despite the unfiltered_html restriction and can affect another viewer's browser.
