APK download-dialog spoofing via crafted HTML
Published Jul 26, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Incorrect security UI in Google Chrome for Android before 101.0.4951.41 allows remote attackers to spoof the APK download dialog via crafted HTML. The Downloads component accepts attacker-controlled page behavior that produces a deceptive APK prompt, but the public issue does not disclose the faulty code path or UI operation. A user must open the crafted page and act on the spoofed prompt, enabling an unintended APK download without reported data disclosure or service interruption.
