Authenticated user creation via missing server authorization
Published Apr 26, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Incorrect authorization in Red Hat Single Sign-On 7.5.0.GA allows remote authenticated users to add users to the master realm. The admin REST endpoint accepts POST /auth/admin/realms/master/users and creates the account without enforcing the caller's master-realm create-user permission. A valid bearer token with administrative privileges in other realms and read-only master-realm access is required; exploitation changes master-realm identity data.
