Cookie theft via unescaped checkout target name
Published Apr 24, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Stored XSS in Snipe-IT before 5.4.3 allows remote authenticated users to steal another user's cookie through a checkout target name. DepreciationReportTransformer returns the checked_out_to value without HTML escaping, causing attacker-controlled markup to be stored and rendered in depreciation reports. Exploitation requires a logged-in attacker to supply the value and another user to view the affected report; the resulting script runs in that viewer's browser context.
