CVE-2022-1410

Authenticated code execution via db_optimize command injection

Published Aug 16, 2022 · Updated Sep 16, 2024

OS command injection in Device42 CMDB before 18.01.00 allows remote authenticated users to execute code through Appliance Manager. The db_optimize() view in /applmgr/applmgrsite/views.py fails to neutralize crafted request data before using it in an operating-system command. Valid Appliance Manager credentials and host-network access are required; successful injection yields a device42 shell with passwordless sudo access.
