Admin PHP upload via image validation bypass
Published May 16, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Unrestricted file upload in VikBooking Hotel Booking Engine & PMS before 1.5.8 allows remote authenticated administrators to upload PHP files via image fields. The plugin accepts image uploads without properly validating file content, so a crafted image containing PHP code is stored as executable server-side code. Administrator-level access is required; successful exploitation can execute attacker-controlled PHP and compromise confidentiality, integrity, and availability.
