CVE-2022-1401Network attack vector

Unauthenticated file disclosure via unvalidated image path

Published Aug 16, 2022 · Updated Sep 17, 2024

Path traversal in Device42 CMDB before 18.01.00 allows remote attackers to read sensitive appliance files without authentication. The /Exago/WrImageResource.axd handler accepts an attacker-provided path without validation and opens matching server files, subject only to a filename-dot restriction. Network access to the appliance is sufficient; disclosed targets include logs containing session IDs, stored credentials, private keys, and databases readable with root permissions.
