CVE-2022-1397Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Administrator creation via missing API role check

Published May 10, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024

Improper authorization in Easy!Appointments before 1.5.0 allows remote authenticated users to create administrator accounts through its API. The auth method in application/libraries/Api.php accepts any valid username and password without verifying that role_slug is the administrator role. Any low-privileged backend account can therefore call the administrators endpoint, create a new administrator, and control API-exposed data and settings.
