Stored XSS via unsanitized plugin settings
Published May 30, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Stored XSS in bgentry Easy FAQ with Expanding Text 3.2.8.3.1 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to inject script via plugin settings. The plugin saves setting values without sanitizing them and renders them without escaping, so payloads in fields such as Font size or Font Color become executable markup. Administrator-level access is required, unfiltered_html must be disallowed, and another user must view the affected output for the stored script to run.
