CVE-2022-1385Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Unauthorized workspace access via reusable invalidated invitations

Published Apr 19, 2022 · Updated Dec 6, 2024

Improper invitation invalidation in Mattermost before 6.5.0 allows remote authenticated users to join and access public content. The System Console invalidation path leaves a pending email invitation usable and later resends it as a reminder instead of revoking it. Exploitation requires a previously issued invitation and an administrator's attempt to invalidate it; access is limited to public teams and channels.
