CVE-2022-1356

Root privilege escalation via unrestricted sudo scripts

Published May 17, 2022 · Updated Apr 16, 2025

Local privilege escalation in Cambium Networks cnMaestro On-Premises allows local users to gain root privileges through permitted sudo scripts. The restricted appliance account can invoke user-supplied scripts with sudo, and the execution path fails to confine commands to the intended allowlist. Low-privilege shell access is required; successful exploitation grants root-level command execution that can alter data or interrupt the appliance.
