Stored script execution via tooltip content
Published Apr 14, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Stored XSS in Pimcore before 10.4 allows remote authenticated users to execute script in another user's browser through tooltip content. Public sources do not identify the tooltip rendering function or exact unsafe output operation; the linked patch instead removes unpkg.com from allowed admin script sources. Exploitation requires authenticated access to store the content and user interaction with the affected tooltip, exposing data and actions available in that browser context.
