Profile picture deletion via unchecked image ownership
Published May 16, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Missing object authorization in 2code WPQA Builder before 5.2 allows remote authenticated users to delete other users' profile pictures. The wpqa_remove_image AJAX action accepts an attacker-supplied image_id and deletes the referenced image without verifying ownership. A Subscriber account and valid action nonce are required; exploitation removes another account's profile picture without exposing its data.
