Administrator account takeover via stored profile XSS
Published Apr 13, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Stored XSS in Organizr before 2.1.1810 allows remote attackers to take over administrator accounts through crafted usernames or emails. The addUser, createUser, and updateUser paths stored these fields without the sanitization added by the corrective commit, allowing markup to reach later page rendering. Exploitation requires the crafted account data to be displayed to an admin or co-admin; resulting script execution can compromise that privileged session.
