Stored XSS via unsanitized slide descriptions
Published Jun 13, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Stored cross-site scripting in CeiKay Carousel CK 1.1.0 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to execute script in visitors' browsers. Slide descriptions are stored without sanitization or output escaping, so embedded HTML event handlers execute when a carousel is rendered in a page or post. Exploitation requires administrator-level access when unfiltered_html is disallowed and a visitor to view the embedded carousel, exposing data and actions available in that visitor's session.
