Stored script execution via unescaped slide descriptions
Published Jun 13, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Stored cross-site scripting in Slideshow CK before 1.4.10 allows remote authenticated users to execute scripts through slide descriptions. The plugin stores slide-description input without sanitization and renders that content without output escaping, allowing embedded markup to run in a viewer's browser. Administrator-level access is required, and the condition is reachable when WordPress disallows unfiltered_html; exploitation can alter page content or expose data available to the viewing session.
