CVE-2022-1318

Configuration-state disclosure via predictable packet sizes

Published Apr 20, 2022 · Updated Apr 16, 2025

Inadequate encryption in Hills ComNav 3002-19 and earlier allows local users to infer alarm configuration state from network traffic. The configuration-page protocol produces messages whose sizes predictably vary with system state, exposing that state even when WPA2 encrypts packet contents. An attacker must be able to observe local network traffic; the published impact is system-state disclosure without integrity or availability effects.
