Sandbox escape via Storage use after free
Published Jul 25, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Use after free in Google Chrome before 100.0.4896.88 allows attackers to escape the browser sandbox through a crafted extension installed by a user. Google identifies the Storage component but has not published the affected object or the lifetime error that leaves freed memory accessible. Success grants execution beyond the browser sandbox; installation of the malicious extension is required.
