Root command execution via unneutralized client secret

Command injection in D-Link router firmware allows remote authenticated users to execute arbitrary shell commands as root through the CLI. The /bin/protest binary incorporates the -client_secret value supplied through the telnet-accessible /bin/cli interface without neutralizing shell separators. Exploitation requires administrator-derived telnet credentials and, on the demonstrated DIR-2640 setup, telnet enabled through a modified configuration; successful injection grants root control.
