Script execution via unescaped profile fields
Published Jun 6, 2022 · Updated Aug 2, 2024
Reflected XSS in the Edit Profile page of the 2codeThemes question-and-answer WordPress theme before 6.8.2 allows remote attackers to run script. The profile update response places the nickname and email POST values into HTML without adequate sanitization or output escaping. Exploitation requires a victim to submit an attacker-controlled form to an affected site's edit_profile endpoint, enabling script execution in that victim's site context.
