Weak secret generation in Live Helper Chat before 3.96 allows remote attackers to recover the installation secret through offline brute force. The installers generate secrethash by truncating MD5 of the current time and mt_rand() to 10 hexadecimal characters, while the captcha endpoint exposes SHA-1 of the requester IP, timestamp, and that secret. Exploitation requires retrieving a captcha string and testing candidates offline; the recovered secret underpins multiple security controls, but published sources do not identify each downstream action.
