Crash via crafted FUR-to-VGM conversion
Published Apr 3, 2022 · Updated Apr 15, 2025
Stack-based overflow in tildearrow Furnace dev73's FUR-to-VGM converter allows attackers to crash the application using a crafted FUR file. Public materials identify the console-mode converter but do not disclose the function or unchecked operation that corrupts stack memory. Exploitation requires a user to invoke console-mode VGM export on attacker-supplied input; the established consequence is a process crash.
