CVE-2022-1206Network attack vector

Administrator-level file upload via missing extension sanitization

Published Aug 20, 2024 · Updated Apr 8, 2026

Arbitrary file upload in Arnan de Gans AdRotate Banner Manager 5.13.2 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to upload double-extension files. The adrotate_insert_media() function fails to sanitize the uploaded filename's extension, allowing a file bearing multiple extensions to pass validation. Administrator-level access is required, and code execution is limited to server configurations that execute the first extension in such a filename.
