CVE-2022-1139Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Cross-origin response-size disclosure via aborted fetch

Published Jul 22, 2022 · Updated Aug 2, 2024

Information disclosure in Google Chrome before 100.0.4896.60 allows remote attackers to leak cross-origin data through crafted HTML. The Background Fetch API leaves an aborted cross-origin request recorded as in progress, exposing response-size metadata that the page can observe. Exploitation requires a user to load attacker-controlled HTML; the leak reveals cross-origin response sizes rather than response contents.
