Omnibox spoofing via canceled fullscreen entry
Published Jul 22, 2022 · Updated Aug 2, 2024
UI spoofing in Full Screen Mode in Google Chrome on Android before 100.0.4896.60 allows remote attackers to falsify the Omnibox URL. Cancellation of fullscreen entry leaves the Omnibox hidden instead of restoring it, so a newly loaded URL appears without trusted browser chrome. A user must open a crafted HTML page and trigger the fullscreen transition; the result is deceptive URL presentation, not code execution or data access.
