Heap buffer overflow in ImageMagick before 6.9.12-44 and 7.0.0-0 through 7.1.0-28 allows local users to crash conversion via a TIFF file. ReadTIFFImage allocates a tile buffer without the fourfold space required for 32-bit TIFF samples, so PushShortPixel reads beyond the heap allocation during pixel import. A user or workflow must pass the crafted TIFF to a local conversion process; the documented consequence is process abort and service interruption, not data disclosure or modification.
