Heap corruption via V8 type confusion
Published Jul 22, 2022 · Updated Oct 21, 2025
Type confusion in V8 in Google Chrome before 99.0.4844.84 allows remote attackers to exploit heap corruption via a crafted HTML page. Object::SetSuperProperty creates a data property for an undeclared global without first invoking CheckContextualStoreToJSGlobalObject, so a strict-mode store bypasses the required ReferenceError path. A user must load attacker-controlled HTML before the browser process reaches the unsafe V8 path.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
