CVE-2022-1065Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Authenticated MFA bypass via frontend-only validation

Published Apr 19, 2022 · Updated Aug 2, 2024

Authentication bypass in Abacus ERP releases before the listed 2022 service packs allows remote authenticated users to skip the second factor through crafted authentication requests. During login, the frontend alone checks approval from the Abacus Access mobile app, while the backend accepts session binding without verifying that approval. An attacker still needs a valid username and password, but can then obtain a fully authenticated session without the second factor, exposing the account’s permitted data and functions.
