Stored XSS via unescaped message subjects
Published Apr 18, 2022 · Updated Aug 2, 2024
Stored XSS in Thank Me Later 3.3.4 and earlier allows remote authenticated users with administrator privileges to execute script. The message editor stores the Message Subject field without sanitization, and the Messages list renders it without output escaping. An administrator must add or edit a crafted subject and another user must view the plugin's Messages list, where the script runs in that viewer's browser even when unfiltered_html is disabled.
