CVE-2022-1050

Guest-to-host code execution via unallocated PVRDMA buffers

Published Mar 29, 2022 · Updated Aug 2, 2024

Use-after-free in QEMU's PVRDMA device allows guest OS users to crash QEMU or execute code on the host via a crafted driver. The pvrdma_exec_cmd() path reads the DSR request header and dispatches its command without first rejecting an unallocated device-shared region. Reachability requires a VM configured with PVRDMA and control of its guest driver; exploitation can terminate QEMU or cross the guest-host boundary.
